Why is it that a restaurant in Grinzing suddenly offers Austrian and Chilean cuisine, as well as vegan and vegetarian options? There is a little story about that…
Benno, who has been working in the gastronomy business since he was 15 years old, met Dessire and that’s how the love story began. Eventually the wedding came, then came the dog, and who knows, maybe the stork will fly by soon.
Both are connected by the joy for traveling, the interest in good food and the desire to establish a family business. That’s why Dessire’s mother is also involved, bringing the Chilean touch to the menu with her advice, but above all with her delicious recipes.
Beeing connected
Benno and Dessire always wanted to know what is in the food they eat privately and where it comes from. This is exactly what they want to implement in the restaurant Neuland. They regularly travel to farmers in the region to buy products for the restaurant. The BIO quality of the products is important to them. They also pay attention to the regional qualities of the beverages, taking the time to know the wine farmers personally. Regionality and sustainability are not just buzzwords for Benno and Dessire.
Herbs to touch
We personally want to know, for ourselves and our guests, where our ingredients come from. We also want to make sure our herbs are untreated and organic, therefore we have created our own herb garden, which our guests are welcome to visit. Our herbs are also happy to receive a few kind words from our visitors, because we know that plants that are lovingly treated grow better immediately.
Celebrate good times
Let festivals be celebrated as they fall. The restaurant Neuland offers enough space for a gathering up to 200 people in the restaurant and also 200 people in the guest garden. Our premises can be shared with partition walls. This provides our guests with the greatest possible privacy during their celebrations.
The convenient location right opposite the church makes our restaurant a popular venue for wedding receptions and baptisms. Civil weddings have also been celebrated here.
We are happy to accompany graduation and company receptions as well, or simply larger family celebrations with our menu selection. We are eager to help you with the menu selection and decoration according to the occasion, so that your celebration can become an unforgettable experience.
Fun for the little ones too
As a family-run business, we naturally place great value on ensuring that our youngest guests also feel at home with us. Therefore we have a small playground with a climbing tower, slide and swings in the outdoor area.

…he is of course welcome in our restaurant Neuland. After all, we also count our dogs among the family members. With pleasure we also provide a water bowl.
